Building Use Policy

  • Please leave the building as you found it. This includes putting the rooms back in the same arrangement that you first found them, with tables, chairs, etc. placed in the same position as when you came.
  • If you will be using the kitchen/dining room areas, please see the Kitchen Use Policy (attached and posted in the kitchen).
  • Leave the area you used clean and in order. Clean up any messes including food spills. If needed, the vacuum may be found in the hallway closet by dining room double doors. The closet on the first floor by the kitchen is marked for your convenience as to what it contains in the way of cleaning supplies, etc. Feel free to use them wisely.
  • Wine may be used for religious worship services, beyond that, please check with the Director.
  • Candles may only be used for religious worship services.
  • Religious symbols are welcome for worship services and events, but should be removed between events and services to respect the variety of religious traditions using the building.
  • Please do not tape, tack, or otherwise attach posters, papers, or other decorations to the walls (or ceilings) in the building.
  • Treat this building gently! Children are welcome in the K-House. Please ensure that they are occupied during your meeting time so as not to disturb other groups in the building or misuse the facility. Please do not bring pets into the K-House unless you have been granted permission by the Common Ministry.
  • The Common Ministry does not have insurance to cover office contents, nor professional malpractice liability for group leaders or pastors working with students within our building.  We suggest that each office or space user carries insurance to cover these as appropriate.
  • The K-house is a smoke-free building. No smoking is permitted in any part of the building.
  • Be considerate of other groups that may be meeting at the same time.
  • If you are the last meeting of the day, please lock the building.
  • Questions (?), please contact either Gail Stearns, K-House Director, or Charlie Spurgeon, Office Manager, during office hours (332-2611).
